Boyes dealt to Sabres for 2nd round pick

St.Louis Blues have dealt F Brad Boyes to the Buffalo Sabres for a 2011 2nd round draft pick. Boyes is a $4M cap hit and is under contract for next season. The Blues will save approximately $975,600 this season by trading Boyes.

Phillips signs 3-year extension

Chris Phillips has agreed to a 3-year deal worth $9.3M. The veteran blueliner has opted to sign and remain in Ottawa for less money. His contract includes a no-movement clause.

Dumont would waive NTC to go to Montreal

According to Renaud Lavoie of RDS, JP Dumont would waive his NTC to go to Montreal. Dumont is a healthy scratch for today’s game against Columbus.

Florida acquires Sulzer

The Florida Panthers have acquired Alex Sulzer for a 7th round conditional draft pick in 2012. Condition is that if Sulzer resigns with Florida or not.

Florida trades Stillman for Carter and pick

The Florida Panthers have traded F Cory Stillman to Carolina for Ryan Carter and a 5th round draft pick in 2011. Stillman had to waive his No-Trade Clause to be a rental for the Hurricanes. He’s slated to become a UFA on July 1st. He’s in the final year on his $3.5M contract.

Montreal Canadiens acquire Dawes, Sopel

The Montreal Canadiens have traded Ben Maxwell and a 4th round pick to Atlanta for F Nigel Dawes and D Brent Sopel. The Ottawa Senators have traded Alex Kovalev to Pittsburgh for a 7th round conditional pick. The Senators also pick up F Marek Svatos off waivers.
