-Ottawa Senators’ Matt Cullen and Andy Sutton will head for free agency.
-LA Kings forward Alexander Frolov will hit free agency.
-Sabres’ defencemen Toni Lydman and Henrik Tallinder will hit free agency.
-Finally, the Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Kris Versteeg and Bill Sweatt from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Viktor Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis.
INSTANT ANALYSIS: The Maple Leafs get a top 6 forward that plays on the PK without giving up any of their core prospects.
Brian’s Addition: Columbus Blue Jackets have claimed ex-Oilers captain F Ethan Moreau. He is in the final year of his 4-year, $8 million contract; his cap-hit is at $2 million next season. Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson continues with his Oilers fetish as he has added Raffi Torres, Jason Chimera, Michael Peca, Jan Hejda and Mathieu Roy, all ex-Oilers, to the Columbus roster in recent years.
